Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Good afternoon,

Recently, unfortunately I had to go back to my hometown due to a death in the family. I went back Thursday as my grandmother fell into critical condition, and stayed until her passing. This has been a difficult period for me as I spent a good amount of time caring for her with my family as she fought dementia. As much as I appreciated being around my family to support one another, this did throw me off track academically as I had to miss class and was preoccupied with family business rather than completing course work/reviewing material.

I have worked hard these past few days on catching up with content, however still need a bit of time to be fully back on track. That being said, I was wondering if I could defer or drop the first quiz which would take place tomorrow morning. Thank you for your understanding and have a great week
