Re: Appeal to the Associate Dean ¿¿ First Level ¿¿ Jonathan Filipopoulos 20014633
Dear Associate Dean,
I am writing this letter as advised, to appeal the grade that I currently have in my transcript for Fisheries 316 with Professor Tufts. I was registered in this class in Winter 2019 and during the exam period, I had fractured my ankle. I had called for academic advising several times regarding this issue and was advised how to proceed. I proceeded through the process to defer my exam with proper documentation for a later date and the application for deferral was approved. I was informed that it was my responsibility to reach out to my professor to arrange an alternate date to write the final exam. I reached out to my Professor on several occasions during the Summer 2019 (and copied the academic office as well) but did not receive an answer. I assumed he was on holidays and waited to reach out to him in the Fall 2019. I am including the email correspondence that I had during this time.
Since then, Professor Tufts and I had communicated and he recommended I write the exam during the exam period for the Fall 2019. I wrote the final exam, Professor Tufts has graded my final exam and has given my final grade of 71 for the course. Noting that my transcript has not been updated, Professor Tufts had reached out to me with this issue as both he and I were unaware of the deadlines for incomplete work in a course. Since I have completed the workload for this course and have received a final grade, I am asking for permission to accept my grade for this course and update my transcript with the final grade of 71.
If there is any further information you require from me, please contact me by email at 15jf49@queens.ca or cell 416 948-2543 at any time. Thank you very much for this consideration.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Filipopoulos 20014633
