Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Nikhil Nath and I am a fourth year student in the Life Sciences program. I attempted to apply for graduation in the spring but mistakenly took one too many courses out of the Arts and Science faculty. I had assumed that the course GLPH 471 counted towards the Arts and Science but now realize that it does not. Since my application for graduation has been rejected, I have been working tirelessly to find a class and professor that is willing to accept a late admission into their class. I met with Dr. Vena on Thursday the 27th, and we have discussed my options and he was kind enough to allow me to join his class.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: To succeed in FILM 210 after joining halfway through the semester, I plan to drop GLPH 471 to make time for me to work on the assignments that I have missed over the past 7 weeks. Dr. Vena has also been kind enough to allow me to submit some extra assignments to make up for some of the classwork I have missed. From my transcript, I believe that it is clear that I will be able to handle the extra assignments, and will not only catch up but excel in Dr. Vena's class.

Amendment to Appeal 6574
Relevant Petition: 6574
New Information: To Whom It May Concern,
I am submitting this appeal amendment, as I was unaware that these Add Course appeals are typically rejected at this point in time. I would like to add that I am applying to medical schools throughout Canada, including Queen's University, and if I were to take a course during the summer semester, it would reflect poorly on my application. In addition, I dropped GLPH 471 in preparation for taking FILM 210, and not having a full course load for my final semester would also reflect poorly on my application. I am a fourth year student in good academic standing, and it is definitely in my best interest, and the university's best interest to be added to this course.
In meetings with Dr. Vena, we were able to devise a plan where I would be able to make up a majority of the evaluations I have missed. He is allowing me to submit all the assignments I have missed in the first half of the course. The only part of the course I am unable to make up is in the participation portion, which totals 20 of the overall grade. I will attend all the remainder of the classes to achieve around 8-10 out of the 20, and Dr. Vena has agreed to provide me with extra-curricular tasks that could be used to make up some of the remaining 10-12. I will be providing documentation of the emails that have gone between us, but a majority of this was discussed in an in-person meeting.
I realize that you may not be the most sympathetic to my situation, as this was a silly error on my part that could have been rectified with better organizational skills. However, I was completely unaware that I would be unable to graduate on time at the time of the add courses deadline on January 17. So, I am asking you to please not allow this mistake to impact my ability to graduate and hinder my ability to pursue a career in medicine in the future.
Thank you again for your consideration,
Nikhil Nath
