Petition Letter: I think this year, the assessment of this course is VERY UNFAIR to all of the students.The Professor notify the detailed form of the form-changed exam only one week before the final.For me, I got a 99 average for my four best graded homework grades and 93 for my mid-term. I am always a top student in ECON255. But only got an A- on this course due to the unexpected change of the exam form without any earlier notice and the impact of the COVID-19.The final exam was changed into an online exam, and it only had eleven questions but it is 40 of my course grade If it has more questions like the mid-term and past final exams, I could definitely get 90 or more. Many of my classmates have already reported this condition to the department and the professor but be denied which is depressing.
Since I started to practice by using the past finals posted on exam bank since this February in order to guarantee I get A+ grade on my final and my course grade I study diligently for this course,and I think 4 course grade of each multiple-choice was ridiculously high. Also, my performance was greatly impacted by the unexpected change of the exam form because I never expect the exam form would be changed into only eleven multiple choices.
The COVID-19 issue also somewhat threatened my living and academic performance in Kingston since March.I had to give up lot of my review time and actively seeking a shelter to live since May and store enough necessarities etc. However, the sudden form changing of the final exam shown absolutely NO sympathy to me at all but increased my anxiety level and made my harsh days even more harshWith both the sudden change of the final exam form and the impact of COVID-19,I think my final exam grade was definitely an understimate of my understanding of the knowledge for this course.I would be very grateful if you could consider those issues and re-assess my grade of this course, I don't think it is fair to me at all
