Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean (Academic),

I am appealing to enrol in MUSC 171-700 (2629) for student number 20192128. I am a Non-Degree Continuing student with a present limit of 9 credits per semester. I am presently enrolled in 3 courses worth 9 credits for the Summer 2020 term. I would like to enrol in a fourth class worth 3 credits which would exceed my 9 credit limit per term.

I am enrolled in two courses that take place throughout the entire summer term and one course that is only 6 weeks in length. I am requesting permission to enrol in a fourth course that is also a 6 week course that occurs after the first 6 week course has been completed.

FRST 105 2020/05/11 - 2020/06/22
HIST 270 2020/05/11 - 2020/07/31
GLPH 271 2020/05/11 - 2020/07/31

Requesting ability to enrol in:
MUSC 171 2020/07/02 - 2020/08/10

I believe that this request is warranted and manageable because the fourth course I am requesting does not overlap completely with the others, meaning that I would only ever be taking 3 courses at any given time.

Since there is no overlap in these courses, I would not be exceeding a 9 credit course load at any one point in the summer. I am therefore formally requesting the ability to enrol in the MUSC 171-700 (2629) course.

As you can see from my track record with Queen¿¿s so far, I have an approximate 3.6 GPA in my other courses. I am highly motivated to complete my Bachelor of Arts in Global Development Studies through the Queen¿¿s Arts & Sciences Online track and this elective course would help contribute to my completion of the program.

I would be extremely grateful for the opportunity to enrol in MUSC 171-700 (2629).
