Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To the Office of the Associate Dean,

I am requesting an appeal to grant permission to enroll in the course ANAT 100 for the term Summer 2020 after the deadline to add a course. I am a distance student here at Queen's and my home institution is McMaster University. I am currently taking STAM 200 online with the Faculty of Arts and Science this term, but I have obtained Letters of permission from my home institution to take both courses. I did not enroll in ANAT 100 at the same time I enrolled in STAM 200 because I did not have the means to pay for two courses due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19. However, that has changed now and I have now secured the tuition fee for the second course, however, a little late. I plan on applying to a graduate program the following academic semester (Fall 2020) and this course is a prerequisite. I must have all prerequisites completed by December 31st, 2020. I would prefer to do this course in the summer because I will already be taking a full course load in the Fall, making completing another course successfully more difficult. If I am not able to do so, I would have to apply to the graduate program the following academic year. To avoid this, I humbly request you to please, allow me to enroll in this course. I am a student with good academic standing at my home institution and will not have any problems catching up with the course material that has been presented thus far. Please, consider my request.
