Petition Letter: Dear Prof
My name is Wei Lai, a second-year Economics student at Queen¿¿s University, and I am writing to kindly ask for your consideration in relation to dropping CISC 102.
I duly registered for Econ212 and CISC 102 during this summer, but due to unforeseeable events occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic, I ended up in a 14-day quarantine at a hotel which did not facilitate a suitable learning environment owing to the conditions and the slow internet connection. I have made efforts to the best of my capabilities to keep up with the Professor¿¿s instructions and complete all the quizzes and assignments that have been administered. However, I have been under a lot of pressure to keep abreast, which has been a challenge considering the workload and the prevailing circumstances. For Econ212, I have managed to stay on course, but it has not worked the same with CISC102 as I was unable to access the lecture notes and login to webwork due to the slow internet connection. As a result, I was not able to notice CISC102 webwork assignments were posted, ending up missing four assignments worth 32. I have made efforts to contact the Professor in an attempt to address the matter, but I have not been successful in settling a solution. In view of this, it will be a difficult task for me to pass the course and kindly request your assistance in dropping the course before the final exam. The 14-days quarantine and 14-days salt-quarantine are really hard for me. I also remain aware that the deadline for dropping this course has passed, but it is my humble request that you consider my circumstances. Thank you for your consideration.
Kind regards,
Wei Lai
