Petition Letter: To whom will be reading this email,
My name is Adrien Mindjimba, student number 20008577. I was a student at Queen¿¿s University in my third year this year. I was placed on academic probation and was asked to withdraw for a year for the 2018-19 school year. After successfully appealing the decision because of family matter I was readmitted at Queen¿¿s with certain requirements (a GPA of 1.6). I did not meet those requirements with a minimum of 1.6 and failed to achieve that. I realized now I was not mature enough and did not realize the chance and opportunity given by this school and my parents to attend Queen¿¿s University again.
I have a strong academic plan that I will follow next year. I am looking at switching major from Economics to History. History was always my strong subject.
I was asked to withdraw after my third year at Queen¿¿s University. But if you allow me to come back to school in the fall. I plan on taking back some second year classes that I either failed or got a low grade to improve my GPA. I discussed this plan with an academic advisor Mr. Bennett and that is also the option he was giving me.
Beside school, I have been taking session with a psychologist; it has now been 3 months. It really helped and continues to help me to see life from a different angle. And since this exterior help (not from my parents) I have been giving more than ever before to each task required of me. I also already talked to certain people at Queen¿¿s in different student group. And I will be more involved in the student life.
After 12 months away from this amazing institution that Queen¿¿s University is, I finally realized the incredible chance that my parents gave me. The incredible opportunity that was in front of me. I am more than ready and very excited to come back to school and show you that I am an A student in university as I was back in high school.
During this year away from school, I did a lot of self-learning, I also got a job at Laurentian Bank in Toronto. This really helped me with self allocating time for work, working out to stay fit in my body and mind, but also really taught me that it is good to have good times with friends. But a job (or school) should always come first, no matter what.
I am not asking to come back to school in September but in January 2021. The first semester during the 2020-2021 school year I applied and got accepted to a volunteering mission in Greece to help in refugee camps. And I thought this would be an opportunity to give back to the less fortunate but to also really make me understand and appreciate the chance I have been given.
I am incredibly lucky to say I go to Queen¿¿s University. My parents made that possible, you made it possible by accepting me. But above all I made it possible with the hard work I did earlier in my life. Once I got accepted at Queen¿¿s University I guess I sat back and thought it would just go by without much troubles. But now I am more motivated than ever to come back to school and reach every goal that I set for myself or that you set.
I am ready to come back, but I can also guarantee you that by the end of my first term back my GPA from that semester will be above 3.0 and it will only go up from there. I am confident enough in my capabilities and new self improvement; that I can say if by the end of the first semester 2020 I do not have a 3.0 GPA (just that semester, not overall) I will be ready to withdraw from Queen¿¿s University for 3 years.

I know you already gave me a chance 2 years ago. But I was not mature enough to realize that, and wasted it. I know trust it easily lost and very hard to gain back. But I am asking you to give me one last chance. You will be blown away by the results.
