Petition Letter: Hi,
I am Ryan, and I am a student entering my fourth year at Queen's and currently taking three summer courses.
I am appealing to drop PYSC 271 late. I still plan on finishing my other two courses because I think taking those two exams are still within my locus of control. I am doing just fine on the course, getting around 65 before the 50 final exam that I planned to review hard for. However, after being trapped indoors with my family for the last 5 months since I returned to China, entering August, I think I am finally getting tired, I simply do not feel psychologically ready for the exam. I have been worried about what I should to for the upcoming academic year, whether I should stay or go back to Kingston. I also feel extremely alone every day and I think I am also experiencing some degree of insomnia. I do not think that I am taking the PYSC 271 exam regardless of the result of this appeal as I want to prevent further damages to myself, I do not think I am both mentally and physically ready for it. Therefore, I really ask for the associate dean to kindly consider my request.
Best,
Ryan Li
