Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am appealing to enroll in MATH 112. I was not aware that taking this course would be necessary until very recently when I realized that my interests lay with geological engineering rather than biology as I had previously believed. In order to make this transfer possible, I require six transferrable credits of which I have 5, MATH 112 would be the sixth if I would be allowed to take it. As to why I did not make the deadline for enrolling in the class, I was not certain that going into engineering was the right choice and being a very important decision which I had to make I did not rush to it for fear of making a bad choice which would have a large impact on my future. After speaking to many engineers, attending the Geological Engineering information night and contemplating the many advantages and disadvantages of my options for upper year studies I am confident that I am making the right choice in attempting to transfer into engineering. I was prompted to this by the geology course i am taking GEOL 104 which allowed me to see how much i enjoyed geology. However I arrived at my decision three days too late and am not able to get into the course I need to proceed with a transfer.
