Petition Letter: Dear colleague,

My name is Xiangyi Chen. I¿¿m currently a fourth year student who major in physics. I was ill since the end of 2019 winter semester, and was receiving medical treatment until January 2020. I travelled between my home country China and Canada for these medical treatment. However, when I came back to Canada in few weeks after the beginning of 2020 Winter, I met the outbreak of COVID-19 unfortunately.

I quarantined for 3 times during the semester. It¿¿s very weird that even one of my roommate was closed-contact to a confirmed case. Meanwhile, my health condition is not well. I was nearly collapsed, as my health issue is very vulnerable to the virus infection. I was still having medicine and medical support distantly. I tried to complete the courses as I could, but for my project, I really had difficulties to focus on that. I asked for the extension for finishing my project first, and started to the trip back to my country. It¿¿s very unfortunate my flight was canceled for 5 times. During that, I also met some personal conflict due to COVID-19 situation. After transferring between countries, I was back to home. I don¿¿t know how to tell you, or if I should tell you each of these things. It seems that every trouble went to me together at that time. I was very tired, and even depressed after experiencing these. Even I had to consult the mental therapist for help.

I really tried a lot to finish my work. I really want to graduate on time. After that, I had to change my plan and defer my graduation. I talked to my instructor about my situation, and decided to give up this course finally. For now, I just have a break and wait for being hospitalized. I will not be back until my health condition is fully recovered. I would be appreciative if you could help me with my situation
