Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am requesting an appeal for a credit standing in HLTH 230; Basic Human Nutrition. I took this course this passed summer, which was very difficult. Because of COVID-19, I struggled immensely to finish the end of the semester. I wrote the final exam and submitted 2/3 assignments but struggled with the last assignment. The last assignment required me to track my meals and record what I ate, which gave me immense/intense anxiety because of personal issues I have around eating and body dysmorphia. Because I couldn't submit my final assignment, this lowered the grade significantly, which in turn, increased my stress levels. I am a fourth year student, relearning university in my final year, financially unstable, stressed to the max because of the pandemic and my car broke down, leaving me to have to buy a new one. I am seeking professional help and am taking the necessary steps to better my health, but 2020 has just been a tough year. I would appreciate if the work I did was validated by not bringing down my GPA, as the pandemic caused extenuating circumstances. This is why I am seeking an appeal for the course and am hoping to receive a credit standing. Thank you for your consideration.
