Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I'm a student from Econ. I have a very serious and sad situation. I need 9 more course in order to graduate and 2 need to be an economic course. I was planning to have 5 course in fall and 4 in the winter. The problem is that i tried to add econ course but it is all full and i need to be in the waiting list so as yesterday i had 3 course enrolled and 2 econ courses in the waiting list, I was thinking of if i can't get into the econ course this fall i will swap the 2 to any other course to maintain 5 course in the fall in order to graduate. But today when i checked my solus, i was removed from the 2 econ courses waiting list and i was unable to add any course from my solus it said the time to add course has ended. I did not know that I would be 'kicked out' of the waiting list before today, so I thought I still got a chance to be enrolled in ECON 280. I really need to add 2 more course in order to graduate this year if i cant graduate this year my parents would not give me any money and i can not finish my university.I talked to the professor, they said that I need to appeal to the Associate Deans in order to enroll ECON 280 in the fall term after the deadline of adding course, and they will help me to add one more ECON course in the winter term. The undergraduate chair of ECON department, professor Ian Cromb promissed me that the ECON department will support my appeal.

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: I really need this appeal in order to graduate by this year. I used to take summer courses in China to get more credits in order to graduate, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was not able to do so. Therefore, I need to be enrolled in ECON 280 desperately to graduate on time. I will work very hard to catch up materials I missed for two weeks, I don't think it would be hard for me because the deadline for adding course is september 21, I am only one day late. My professor Anya Hageman told me in the email that she would support me to appeal my request, I could discuss with her on how to submit assignments I missed and I will catch up all materials by myself. The undergraduate chair, professor Ian Cromb also confirmed that i am eligible to enroll this course. I have only three courses enrolled right now, so I am very sure that I will be able to handle the couse load if I am enrolled to ECON 280. I have no part-time job, and I am in Kingston right now, so studying will be my only concentration at the moment. Problems that I used to have in the past was the language barrier, I had a hard time understanding the lecture, reading materials, and test questions. However, I have improved a lot by studying English very hard, I got a grade of A+ for ECON 223 during the summer which showed me determination to improve and my ability to succeed. In order to succeed this course while starting late, I will consult with my professor and ask for help regularly. I am sure that I will succeed in this course because I know how hard it was to be enrolled. Please approve my appeal, this is very desperate for me and my family, because I need to support low-income my family. I will study hard to achieve academic success, and I will make plans to study for the class material, review and complete assignments on time. Thanks
