Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
My name is Willa Morton. The reason for my appeal is that I would like to register for Employment Relations (EMPR 100) in section 001.
I am currently taking four courses this semester, one of those courses being a math course (CISC 102). I took this class because I wanted to major in Computing and the Creative Arts.
After struggling through a mental breakdown and realizing this isn¿¿t the path I should be taking or can bear taking during these COVID circumstances, I have decided I want to go down the General BA path and major in Psychology. However, I am aware the course add deadline passed on September 21 and my mental breakdown happened a little too late. I was originally registered in EMPR 100 but dropped the class due to a large course load. I am now realizing that the class I should have dropped was math. Unfortunately, I had to drop math no matter what which leaves me with only taking 3 courses this semester so if I were to be registered back into EMPR 100, I would do everything I can to make up for the work I missed in these 3-4 weeks.
I thought about keeping math and struggling through the semester but I would never wish upon myself, or anyone, the dissatisfaction felt when doing something I know is wrong. I am a person who is happiness driven and I know doing Employment Relations and the classes associated with communications is what makes me happy and what gets me out of bed in the morning. I know students make these mistakes all the time and it¿¿s all a part of discovering what you want to do in life but adding this Employment Relations class would take the world of stress off of my shoulders. The only extenuating circumstance I can think of is my own mental state of mind. I wouldn¿¿t ask if this wasn¿¿t important to me. I am a very hard worker and I don¿¿t take second chances lightly. Thank you for considering this appeal.

Sincerely,
Willa Morton
