Petition Letter: To graduate I need one more SODE 400 level course, and I am currently enrolled in another course to satisfy that requirement. At first the course I was enrolled in seemed to be appropriate for my program, but we had our first evaluation that came out and I realized that I am likely missing the background knowledge to do adequately in the course. For This reason, I would like to enroll into CISC 447 as I believe it is more in line with my degree path and more relevant to my interests. I would also like to join CISC 447 despite the prerequisite of CISC 335, as until last year it was CISC 435. Unfortunately, CISC 447 is offered only in the Fall so I must submit this appeal. Thank you for understanding.
Academic Plan
Academic Plan: Because I will be joining the course late, I will be behind in the material and will need to catch up to where we are in the course. My primary priority is to allocate my time for the following weeks to catch up with all the material that I have missed so far. I believe my interest in the course material and its relevance to my program will motivate and help me. As well, the fact that I am behind will push me to dedicate my time to get caught so I can deliver the next assignment before the due date. Once I am caught up, I have no doubt I will be able to manage the course material in my allocated time alongside my other courses. I require a 400 level SODE course to graduate and I believe that this is the course that best suits my interests and my experience. Thank you.
