Petition Letter: Good afternoon Associate Dean,
I am a 5th year Arts and Science student currently enrolled in 3 courses. It came to my attention that I am short a course to graduate (3.o units) and personally took it upon myself to email the professor of a course I was interested to enroll in (in order to have the appropriate number of credits to graduate). I have not heard from this professor (Professor Baba for GNDS 125) and now I don't really know what to do because I cannot enroll into courses on Solus (hence my application for an appeal). The course I require is an arts and science elective, hence my selection of GNDS 125. I am specifically interested in joining the GNDS 125 course after reviewing the summary of the course, however given the circumstances I am open to any arts and science elective available. I am happy to do extra assignments to make up for the lost time in whatever course I can be enrolled into. I am dedicated to catching up on all readings and material, I just really need help being enrolled into a course.
Prior to this appeal, I have emailed Dean Crow, who referred me to Associate Dean (academic) Stephenson, who then passed my email to Kerri Andrews (academic advisor). Kerri Andrew's explained that I am to formally apply via this portal for an appeal.
I would like to reiterate that I emailed Professor Baba in hopes of joining their class on September 23rd since I saw on Solus that they had 1 available spot in the course at that time and the course description interested me. I knew I would likely need the professor's permission to join a course late but now that I have not heard from them I am still looking to apply for this appeal without their permission or am hoping that someone can help me get in touch with them via this process.
I am hoping to pursue a post-graduate degree starting in January, that is why I am appealing to add a late course for this Fall 2020 term.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I am extremely motivated to catch up and truly immerse myself in the course material in order to achieve academic success. I am happy to do extra assignments to make up for the lost time. I am dedicated to catching up on all readings and material, I just really need help being enrolled into the course in order to graduate (I am down 3.0 units). I am currently enrolled in 3 other courses, making the addition of one more very manageable. I have good time-management skills and am confident I will be able to catch up and excel in all 4 courses, even with a late start to one. Kerri Andrew's (academic advisor) mentioned I could always take the course next term, however I am hoping to pursue a post-graduate degree starting in January. This is why I am appealing to take an additional course this term.
I plan to construct an academic plan with Professor baba once I am in touch with them, however, the professor has not responded to my email yet so I am not entirely sure of their expectations yet.
