To Associate Dean (Academic),
I am submitting an appeal to add BCHM 315/3.0 (fall) to my course load this term after the academic deadline. I am currently in BCHM 310/9.0 which is the same content but includes a lab component. A delay in this appeal was due to miscommunication between the BioChem department and academic advisors. Since I reached out to multiple people regarding this issue in order to gain a wider perspective on the implications and process of going through this level change, I then had to deal with wait times between these appointments and getting in contact with both parties which pushed adding this course passed the add deadline. Additionally, I was aware of the November 2nd dropping deadline but was misdirected on information about the deadline for adding courses.
I am having an extremely difficult time with the content and online lab material in BCHM 310/9.0 in a virtual setting and it is severely effecting my overall academic performance and mental wellbeing. I strongly believe that this level change from BCHM 310/9.0 to BCHM 315/3.0 will make me a more successful student. This level change will have no impact on my course requirements in order to graduate with my planned degree.
I believe the impact of this level change will have extreme impact on my improvement of academic success this term as I am already up to date in the content of BCHM315/3.0.
Sincerely,
Andrea Ellsay
