Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Who this may concern,

The reason for my letter is that I would like to drop one of my classes, FREN342. I wish I could say that I had extenuating circumstances forcing me to drop the class past the drop date but in all honesty I was planning on dropping it earlier and I completely forgot about the drop deadline.

I have not been doing well in this class because unfortunately I have just been hyper-focused on my other 6 classes as I took 7 courses this semester and overestimated my ability to keep on top of everything. In addition to that, with classes being online this semester has made it extra difficult for me to keep up with work. I've been missing assignments, not because I forgot or anything else but because with the layout of these online classes I just didn't even know about them in the first place and I believe it's likely that I will fail the class if I'm unable to drop it. I'm only 4 days past the drop date and I am hoping you will make an exception for me. Thank you very much for your consideration.
