Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
On October 17, 2020, I sustained a concussion that left me bedridden and unable to do my school work. At the suggestion of my doctor, I submitted a request for Academic consideration, which was granted to me from October 17-31.I am still in the process of completing my catch up work from my absence on top of the current course load. Since my return to school work, I have had difficulty using screens for extended periods, as at times, I am still very sensitive to light and sound. This presents me with an incredible challenge during an entirely online semester. I have in result, fallen behind in my courses. I have also felt that the quality of my work has been largely affected. I have a long history of clinical anxiety specifically in relation to school. While I have been on upward path to recovery, my concussion and the challenges it poses to my academic success has taken a significant toll on my mental health. I have been experienced panic attacks alongside many other physical anxiety symptoms. I believe that lightening my course load will relieve some of the stress I have been feeling, and allow me to dedicate more time to my recovery.
Thank you for your consideration,
