Petition Letter: I am appealing to drop ECON 485 (Fall 2020)

I am appealing this course as I have been dealing with acute anxiety for some time; and having a significant other with an autoimmune disorder has required me to be self isolated essentially since March. This has made my anxiety much worse (especially the social aspect), as I have been unable to see friends and family for long stretches of time. I have had bi-monthly, phone session therapy sessions in the past in an attempt to overcome this condition, and have contacted my family doctor for more expertise.

I am appealing this course in specific, as it has a required oral presentation component, and I only became aware of how debilitating my condition was soon leading up to my oral presentation. This is why I did not decide to drop the course following the appropriate timeline.

ECON 485 is no longer a required course for me to complete my degree, as I have transferred in to a general BA in Economics, rather than BAH in Applied Economics. I will not be taking this course in order to complete my degree.
