Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear whom may it concern,
My name is Jennifer Song and I am writing to appeal for the late drop of HLTH 230 and the removal of F on the transcript.
On August 02, 2019, around 1 am I received a phone call from Korea that my grandfather passed away that day.
That was the date that I was supposed to write my HLTH 230 exam on August 2 0900-1200 at the University of Toronto Dunning campus.
I was not able to attend the exam and left Canada on the same to attend my grandfather¿¿s funeral.
I and my entire family quite literally fell apart, and I was not able to pull myself together to actively recover my academic grades. I know you may think it's a late appeal however, it took a long time for me to get back to my usual life and to think about continuing my studies at Queens.
I have never had any close family member pass away and not only had emotional suffer but I was financially difficult since our family had to finance flight tickets and funeral preparations. I was paying my course fee from my small savings and I am devastated that the course tuition I¿¿ve paid became a total loss.
I take the responsibility for not attending the exam but I have plans to get back on track. I appeal to the committee for a second chance whether it is to retake the entire course.
I want to thank the staff who directed me to this form and encourage me to send an appeal to get help. I love our school and I plan on taking to put myself on a path towards academic success at Queen¿¿s.
If my grandfather¿¿s death certificate or any other document is needed for proof please let me know.
