Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I wish to submit an appeal to drop this course at this time due to the extenuating circumstances of my job situation at the moment. I am currently only one credit away from completing my second degree at Queen's, and was hoping to complete that credit in 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic severely impacting my earning potential at my work, I am currently having to work three jobs in order to make ends meet, two at Queen's and one at a restaurant. This has greatly impacted my ability to carve out time to focus on my course work this semester, and I am not confident in my ability to complete this course as well as I believe I could have. I have been able to save up some money and I intend to leave one of these jobs in January, and hopefully take a course next semester. I understand that I could have come to this decision earlier but I underestimated how much work I would have to take on and how little free time I would have these past few months. The stress of the upcoming exam is starting to become very difficult to deal with and I am simply not in a place to leave any of my jobs this month.
