Petition Letter: Dear Manager
I very much hope that I can cancel the film course scores of the freshman year and only keep the credits, like the pass policy introduced by the school during the 2020 epidemic. I do not think that this year of study can reflect my true ability. On the contrary, this year's Film results can only reflect my inner depression. How low the score of Film 110 is, how sad my life in class that year was.
I want to appeal against my study of film 110 course in my freshman year. If I were to use one word to describe the Freshman Film110 course, I think that word should be depression. I clearly remember that every Thursday of that year was the day I most reluctant to face because I had to walk into that classroom.
I attended the first Film 110 course with excitement and excitement. Because I had just studied abroad at that time, every day was new to me. I am eager to start my university life sitting in a university classroom. In one class, we introduced ourselves. Even though my oral English was not very good at that time, I still mustered up the courage to try to communicate with students from different countries. Most of the contents of the first class were introduced by the teacher, so I felt that the first class went on very quickly, and I did not feel any discomfort. But to my surprise, the second class turned out to be the beginning of a nightmare for my school year.
When I entered the classroom that day, I saw my classmates who sat next to me last time and they were chatting with each other. I naturally walked over and sat next to them, greeted them, and tried to follow each other's Facebook accounts. However, they do not seem to be interested in communicating with me too much. When I took out my phone, none of them seemed to see it. Only one classmate may be embarrassed by me, so he took out his mobile phone and told me to follow my Facebook account. But I obviously felt that he did not want to communicate with me too much. At that moment I felt that I was isolated. This is a feeling I have never felt before.
Later in my sophomore and junior year, I reflected on this matter. I do not think they are deliberately isolating me, after all, I was wearing glasses and was thin. My spoken English is not good, and I even stutter a little when I speak English. Maybe this is the image of a nerd in Canadian culture. Although I fully understand why they are unwilling to communicate with me, I was still very sad at the time, and I just wanted to escape rather than study in each class.
I hardly studied the Film 110 course that year. Every time I stepped into the classroom, I only felt embarrassment and sadness. So, I had to use my indifference to the course content to conceal my anxiety. Later, I got a C in that class, which was not much in the median of my four years in college. The remaining two Cs are mathematics because I am not good at math. As for my professional courses, economics, I have done very well.
I very much hope that I can cancel the film course scores of the freshman year and only keep the credits, like the pass policy introduced by the school during the 2020 epidemic. I do not think that this year of study can reflect my true ability. On the contrary, this year's Film results can only reflect my inner depression. I did well in the other courses of the freshman year because there are many foreign students from China or other countries like me in the economics class. This gave me a lot of comfort in the first year.
Appreciate,
Juntao Wang

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: To be honest, I don't think I have had any depression or depression in general. But I think I was full of depression and autism in Film class. Every time I leave the Film 110 class, I feel that the world is full of sunshine. I still don't want to walk into the building where Film 110 is located, because it is full of my bad memories. Therefore, I do not think that the learning under the mood at the time can reflect the real learning situation. I don't have much to complain about. However, Film 110's performance greatly lowered my total GPA, which made me suffer a lot from the graduate application. If I can cancel the grade of this course, then my GPA can increase by at least 0.1, even if it is 0.1, it will give me some advantages. As for why I don¿¿t want to cancel the credit for this class at the same time, it¿¿s because I hope my time of that year can at least bring me something, otherwise the whole year of film study will really only be left with despair.
