Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am submitting an appeal request due to the mental health challenges I have experienced this semester. Due to covid 19, I dealt with many extenuating circumstances at home, which affected the second half of my grades in this course greatly. I went from getting a 90 on my first midterm and an 87 on my 5 graded assignments, to failing both the second midterm and final. When Covid restrictions got more severe, my marks got worse as well. Since I was forced to live at home without being able to flee to the library, I had to deal with the following circumstances: my little siblings being distracting doing online school (and at the time of my final exam), my aunt and grandma contracting covid 19, my grandpa passing away (and me having to be home 24/7 to console my family), my parents feeling financial/employment stress due to covid. After failing the second midterm, I realized that I made a technical error when uploading the pdf written answers. However, unfortunately, when I notified my professor about this, he said he was unable to do anything about it. Due to the mental strain these circumstances caused me, it lead me to many having many breakdowns and being unable to focus on my studies. Thank you for your consideration on my appeal.
