Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Dear professor,
I have three appeals. The first appeal is to correct the score of CISC 452 that miscalculated one of my homework mark. The second appeal is credit standing for STAT 455. The third appeal is to drop MATH 474.
STAT455 and MATH474 are not requirement to my undergraduate plan and I took them as interesting courses in the last year(2019 Fall). However, I did not take enough relevant fundamental statistic courses, so they are too challenging for me and I failed two courses.
This year is my final year. I retook STAT455 and MATH474 this term(2020 Fall) and tried to eliminate the fail record. I did not know that the score would take account of my GPA if I fail it twice. Also I have five 4-level courses and participated in two research this term. So I have limited time to study and have extenuating physical illness during final exam period for both courses.
I did my best and received A score in other courses but unexpectedly low mark for STAT455 and MATH474, that would affect my graduate admission of the next year. Wish to get an approval to drop MATH474 and take credit standing for STAT455 in 2020 Fall term.
Looking for your help. Thank you.
Best wishes,
Simin Zhang
