Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I appeal for reconsideration of 2 of my courses¿¿ grades for 2020 winter term.
March 2020 was the time when the pandemic affected the school and online study began. I was having 5 courses at that time, 3 of them were 2-term courses. I personally could not adapt to the new study routine as well as living an isolated life in Kingston. All my friends left Kingston for home and I lost my study group.
2020 was the year I entered university, and as an international student, I found it hard to cope with all of this. I became irritable and anxious. I let myself drink and sleep on my quizzes and assignments. Days blended together for me.
Eventually, I failed 3 of my 5 courses because I did not attend the final exams. Because of the COVID19 disruption, the school decided that students could apply for a Pass for their courses regardless of their grades. I missed the deadline.
I did not think of filing an appeal until suggested by an academic advisor recently. I hope the school could reconsider my final grades of the 2-term courses (CHEM112 and PSYC100) since I worked hard and performed well throughout 2019 Fall term. For the 2-term combined, I attended all of the labs and completed 70 of the work, aside from the final exam.
