Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,



I am a Dutch/Canadian student with permanent residency in The Netherlands currently in my fourth year at Queen¿¿s University. At the end of Winter 2021, I will have completed all my core credits towards my BAH in Drama and Certificate in Media. I am writing this letter of appeal to request permission to complete my remaining nine credits towards the fulfillment of my degree in a study abroad program at an institution in Europe or the UK in Fall 2021. These remaining nine credits consist only of electives, as all the core courses towards my major and media certificate will have already been completed with courses taken at Queen¿¿s University.



Unfortunately for financial reasons related to additional flights and practical reasons related to Covid-19, I would be grateful to complete these three electives/nine credits at an institution closer to my home. It is my intention to submit study abroad applications to Goldsmiths University of London, Queen Mary University London, and Westminster University London in the UK as well as to Utrecht University in The Netherlands.



I have been given permission to study abroad and complete my remaining three electives at a different institution by John Burge, the Undergraduate Chair for my department, who said I am happy to provide permission to for you to complete your degree with three courses taken from another university but note that these courses will need to be approved prior to enrollment to assure that they meet any outstanding degree requirements.
