Petition Letter
Petition Letter: This appeal is in regards to my final exam for the course PSYC 251. I have contacted the Professor but it seems that my request was denied and along with a rough response. It was initially graded by the TA that I was told that when I sent an email, the professor mentioned not to bother them The professor seemed to have also not understood where I am coming from in regards to my perspective. The two essays that had to be written, based off my previous essay and changes I made along with a post the Professor had that; since it is a letter to a cousin/friend or brother that to keep it simple and no citations are needed. I followed that rule and in a very unique way, visualized as if I was actually explaining things to my cousin or brother for this work and used several key points from the textbook readings, notes and modules. I put it in a format accordingly that as with the mentioning of keeping it understandable to someone who doesn't know psychology. The major thing that I noticed from the rubric was that it seems that the TA initially either since many students apparently used citations, my essay's were entirely downgraded due to me not directly mentioning cited points. I have my valid reason and of why I did not as upon what I had read. I used various creativity throughout my essay's whether utilizing an actual way of really talking to a cousin or brother etc. The usage of other people and even some gentle perspectives on perhaps how they usually think and different solutions to it and much enthusiasm was carried throughout. For most of the rubric, it seems that just because it seems I got trapped with following no citations, in first essay part 3, you can clearly see the highlighted only 5 points directly relates to apparently having no research etc. Throughout both essay's I am able to prove that how much research was actually used but it almost goes back to the dishonesty that the professor lead me into by outlining no citations needed. I did not mention much of general points but creatively utilized examples and put them in a simple manner. I contacted the professor mentioning these points about the citation and it was almost disregarded in a sense and instead she gave me a huge list of things that I was apparently supposed to say It was just terrifying that it was almost like an outline or as if I had to let go of my own perspective and according to the outline I had that, I just had to use her I should talk about, I should say, I didn't ¿ and I felt that was totally unfair. I then explain my aspect and perspective and just get told about how it's life and understanding university life and such I've had issues with this professor before with a submission as well that I entirely had to take control and initiative of as otherwise, she had assumptions and random sayings such as still your grade is very low until I actually brought my awareness that I had everything submitted and then blankly told, she sent me it accidentally or disregard what she said It really makes me feel as if, it almost turns into something that she will continue saying stuff that would frustrate the other and unfortunately this time, I felt my freedom was not there as she should be the one understanding. I hope to know that I've literally spent several days and hours on this work, compiling it in a simple tone and manner so I don't lose marks for it and closely following the outline and professor threads. This clearly does not feel like a level 5-6 work here. I did discuss my aspect and whether if the illusion of seeing no citations made it seem like poor work but if I did infact show several continuous ideas that I used from textbooks etc., that if this same work would easily be in the 8 points range or above.
