Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hello, my name is Dyson and I am a second year Political Science student. I am appealing to drop a geography course and add a political science course. I am applying for this appeal for a number of reasons. Firstly, due to COVID-19 and the financial situation of my family I will have to increase the amount of work I do and as a result I likely won't be able to take a political science course in the summer to stay on track to meet the requirements for my major. In addition to this even if COVID-19 hadn't happened I am concerned about my familiarity with the course material and ability to pass the course. When I graduated from high school I was more familiar with the content than I am now which is very stressful. Lastly, I have had anxiety in the past and my concern over my ability to complete the course I think will have a severe and negative impact on my mental health in already difficult situation. I acknowledge that I should have swapped the courses before the deadline and for that mistake I have to take responsibility. With that being said I hope that this appeal will be put through and that you can understand my circumstances.
