Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,

I am writing today to request an appeal to add CISC 332 after the deadline to add courses for the Winter 2021 term.

I have spoken to professor Powley about my desire to add the course past the January 22nd deadline; she explained that they manually admitted everyone off the waitlist. Hearing this is troubling to me because at the time this was done, I was in position two of the waitlist for the CISC section of the course, and for reasons unknown to me, I was not admitted. Seeing this was a situation out of my control and an error that I could not have prevented, I would like to enroll in the course past the January 22nd deadline.

Having struggled with the wellbeing and safety of my mother as her Parkinson's and Frontotemporal dementia progress and the fallout of those situations on my own personal health, I have had to limit my course load to at most four classes a semester, putting me in the situation I find myself now, needing to aggregate as many credits possible to graduate on time.
