Dear Associate Dean (Board of Studies, Arts and Science), my name is Hanjia Li. I will be graduating in Spring 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts Honor degree major in Film and Media Studies and minor in drama from Queen's University. In the Fall of 2018, I successfully completed DRAM 246 Technical Practicum, but the credits of this course did not show up in my academic advisory report (AAR). I emailed drama department and they told me the only way to get the credits back is to retake this course. So, I took DRAM 246 again in the Fall of 2019. Even after doing this, the AAR still told me that I needed to complete DRAM 246 in the Winter term of 2020. I have completed this course three times and the only version of the course requires me to graduate is the first one taken in the Fall of 2018. DRAM 246 is a 1.5 units course, there are no classes to attend but students simply complete 48 hours of work on a dramatic production that is then approved by an advisor. I am appealing to have the 2019 and 2020 repeated completed courses dropped from my transcripts, even though I did receive a P grade, so that I can then receive a refund for having taken these courses due to incorrect advice from drama department. I have the complete support from the Dan School of Drama and Music in submitting this appeal. I also have the supporting letter from Dr. John Burge, Chair of Undergraduate Studies, Dan School of Drama and Music.
