Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear, Associate Dean,

I am writing this letter today to appeal my fall term grades in, GPHY 362, ARTH 260 and ARTH 301. I am requesting to get credits instead of the grades I received for the following circumstances. I had enrolled in ARTH 301 on September 9th, 2020, after speaking to a friend about the course I realized it was not the right course for me, so I called into the student centre to get it dropped. I thought I successfully dropped the course which led me to not doing any work or assignment in the class at all, I received a final grade of 0 as I had done nothing, so I contacted an academic advisor and she told me I was enrolled in the class the entire semester. The academic advisor advised me of appealing the class along with 2 other classes, but the other 2 being for different circumstances. In early December, I suffered a concussion. I went to see a doctor the day after hitting my head, and I went to the Queen¿¿s wellness centre as well. A few days after my concussion I emailed my professors letting them know of my situation, along with a student wellness centre letter. This being my second concussion, it led me to have constant migraines, feeling really down on myself and very anxious because it was near the end of the semester and I realized I would not be able to write my ARTH 260 exam and could not complete my final assignment in GPHY 362. I was given a recovery timeline of 4-8 weeks but even to this day, I do not feel 100 myself. There¿¿re nights when I have a hard time going to sleep and there are days when I get extremely anxious or put myself down as a result of this.
Although I was unable to complete my last GPHY 362 assignment and my ARTH 260 exam, I tried to not let this circumstance stop me, but I could not be in front of a screen for a long period of time. I have seen a doctor and if needed I can provide a doctor¿¿s note, and the letter I received from the student wellness centre.
