Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern; This appeal letter is regarding a study abroad program. I wish to study abroad in the winter of 2022. I have applied to the Queen's Bilateral Exchange Program, however, as it is very competitive, especially this year due to Covid 19, I would like to consider other options. I have applied to an external study abroad program called International Studies Abroad (ISA). I wish to study in Valencia, Spain, through ISA. I have dreamed of going on an exchange in third year ever since my brother went to Barcelona for his exchange 4 years ago. I feel that studying abroad for a semester will encourage me to step outside my comfort zone and discover courses in my field of interest that may not be offered at Queens. I am hopeful that studying abroad will help me determine the direction of my future studies.

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: My academic plan for studying abroad is to take my core courses in the fall of 2021, which will allow me to have more options to pursue new and interesting elective courses while in a different country. I am a Health Studies student, therefore, there are not too many core courses that I need to take, which is why I hope to take them in the semester before going abroad. Given the opportunity to study abroad, I hope to take courses that will allow me to immerse myself in a new culture. I would love to explore all my academic options and take full advantage of the broad range of areas of a degree in Health Studies.
