Petition Letter: Dear the Associate Dean (Academic),
I am appealing my final grade for SOCY 225 (Fall, 2020). Prior to receiving a grade of B on SOLUS, my grade on ONQ for the course had suggested a final grade of 84.95, which I believe constitutes a final grade of A. This calculation was made by looking at the syllabus provided for the class, and plugging in the weight of my grades received accordingly. After ongoing correspondence with the professor (David Murakami Wood), he acknowledged the mistake and my right to a higher grade of 85, but has not replied to my last email or made the appropriate changes.
Please find attached the screenshots from ONQ confirming the grades received in the course and how they were weighted, along with a record of emails sent and received in reply from Murakami regarding this issue. Approximately 19 days after sending out the first email on January 8th and receiving a reply soon after, I noticed no changes were made and sent another on January 27th. I was reassured once again that my grade would be changed. However, it has been 30 days since then, and I have yet to see any changes on my SOLUS.
I would like my grades on SOLUS for SOCY 225 to be changed from a B, to accurately reflect my performance in this class which would constitute a grade of A, as has been already acknowledged by the professor but not changed in SOLUS.
