Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
My name is Manahil. I¿¿m a 4th year Biology student. I am writing this appeal letter to you because I need to drop the course BIOL 403 for the winter semester 2021. I have not been feeling well for the past month, with my physical health fluctuating. I have gotten sick in the past month but instead of fully recovering, I get sick again after a view days because my immune system is weak. This has taken a toll on my mental and physical health to the point that I am having trouble completing any of my obligations. I had received a STAA for the past few weeks to help deal with these circumstances. I was unable to drop this course in due time because of my deteriorating health, I was so overwhelmed by all the obligations and trying to complete them in this condition that I had missed the deadline.
BIOL 403 is a lab course that I have to attend in person. With the current ongoing covid situation and recent breakout of 8 new cases near/on campus, it would be very risky to go attend my labs for myself, my peers, and instructors. Moreover, I haven¿¿t been feeling well enough to leave my room, so it would be really challenging to go to Campus in this condition. I would be grateful if you could let me drop this course. This course is also offered in the summer which would be an ideal solution. If you allow me to drop it for this semester, I can take it in the summer. I hope you can understand my situation.
