Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
I am requesting to appeal INDG 301 instructed by Marshall Hill. I would like it to removed from my transcript and to be refunded the tuition amount- I have sent in a refund request form.
I was unaware of my enrolment until an awards officer (Amanda Taillefer) informed me. I thought I had dropped INDG 301 along with the other 2 courses: GNDS 380 and GNDS 235. I have attached a screenshot of an email I sent to Marshall Hill proving I did not have intentions/capacity to carry on with the course.
In recent previous appeals, I have timelines my extenuating circumstances; I am currently on a leave of absence due to mental health. I have spoken to my counsellor, Lisa Doxtator, about this appeal. Lisa will be sending me a letter of support sometime this week. I will forward it when I receive it.
In short, I hope my appeal is accepted. I believe I deserve understanding and sympathy as an Anishinaabekwe navigating a colonial society and colonial institution, that has and continues to play a major role in my mental illness. I do want to succeed, I have accepted that my path to success is and will be very different from others.
Miigwech,
Courtney
