Petition Letter: Dear Queen's University Appeal Review

I am writing you to request a late drop for course PHAR100. At the end of February, I was informed by my urologist that the results from a ultrasound scan I received were suspicious of malignancy. Since then, I have been seeing an oncologist and radiation physician for consultations on treatment options. Also, I have been suffering from pain and discomfort from the illness as well as routine blood work and travel for doctor visits. Currently, there are preparations being made for starting my treatment with surgery being the most viable option with the best outcome. Unfortunately, during this period I have not been focused on my studies at Queen's. I started as non-interest student with great motivation and drive to work towards a degree from one of the top post-secondary schools in Canada. However, my current situation has severely affected my energy levels and concentration on my course. I am not giving up and will be doing everything in my power to get healthy and beat this illness. Once, I am finished the treatment I am hoping to return my studies as soon as possible.
