Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Queen's University
I am aware everyone was affected by COVID-19 in their own personal ways. For me, to be able to afford to go to school I need to work during the school year, and as I do I have been a Swing Manager, at the time at CFB McDonald's in Kingston. At the beginning of the lockdown, Managers had the option to stop working and with more than half of our management team gone I was pushed into picking up other peoples slack heading into my first year of finals.

RE: SOCY122, POLS110
Queen's very generously allowed students to take a Pass or Dropped mark on transcripts, and Professors Rose and Sighn granted me an extension on incomplete work to finish off the term. I was under the belief that upon completed work was handed in my mark would change to either a P or a DR. However my marks are still there and I am hoping to receive a P for POLS110 and drop Socy122

RE: ASTR101
During my first full semester of online school, juggling it with a job, was poor planning on my part. I received an F in ASTR101 and relatively lower marks in the rest of my classes. If you refer to my marks this Winter 2021 term, you will see that with one less class (4 total) my marks rose significantly. I am appealing for a drop for this class on my transcript.

I greatly appreciate the consideration, and all the help so far during my studies. I know every student appreciates it.

Thanks,
Nic W

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: I plan on continuing my studies in Economics, hoping we will be going back to in person classes in the fall and taking 5 classes. If online, I will most likely take 4 classes as that worked for me the last semester.
