Petition Letter: Throughout this year in HLTH 101 I did not receive feedback on 8 out of the 12 course discussion posts. When I received my mark back for my final essay, I did not receive any feedback justifying the mark I received. After reaching out to my TA directly (as suggested by my professor) I did not receive a response after more than a week.
On the rubric of the final essay, I received an ¿¿acceptable¿ mark for the structure of my essay. My essay, as instructed in the final essay outline, consisted of an introduction paragraph, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. My essay was structured in a logical order and each paragraph had relevant information pertaining to its position in my essay.
I also received a mark of ¿¿acceptable +¿ for use of evidence. My second paragraph contained multiple significant examples from course text that supported the introductory sentence. The introductory sentence of the second paragraph is ¿¿From his inception and until the time he passed, Walton ¿¿Bud¿ Osborn Junior was missing key aspects of the social determinants of health which is why he suffered so many tragedies throughout his life and eventually died.¿ I then proceed to give the following information to support that sentence ¿¿Walton grew up in a rough ¿¿white trash¿ neighborhood in Toledo, Ohio with an incredibly irresponsible mother and without a father (Lupick, 2018). The void of a father figure in his life had him scarred from a young age. ¿¿I was told I never knew him - I thought there was something wrong with me. Something really wrong with me, mentally, and my perception of reality¿ he mentioned. To make matters worse, Walton¿¿s mother was extremely irresponsible as she regularly brought intoxicated men back to their home. At the age of four, Walton witnessed his mother being brutally beaten and raped by a drunken man and was even assaulted for trying to protect his mother.¿
I am requesting consideration for a regrade of this final essay.
