Dear Dr. Jenn Stephenson,

I am appealing to have my final grade for Psychology 100 for the academic year 2020-2021 be granted Credit (CR) standing.

On 14 April 2021, I virtually wrote my final Psychology 100 exam. I finished on time and submitted what I thought was my fully completed exam. On 27 April, my professor, Dr. Meghan Norris contacted me and informed me that the submitted version of my exam contained the multiple-choice portion only and did not contain my answers to the written answer questions. This news was shocking and very distressing to say the least. I frantically approached my Father to assist in the hope he would be able to retrieve the completed version on my laptop. Fortunately, he was finally able to find it buried in the recovery files. He instinctively saved it without making any changes at all to my answers, and I forwarded the completed exam file to my professor. Unfortunately, due to the fact we had renamed it to differentiate the found version from the originally submitted version, my professor informed me that this copy had been edited, therefore, was inadmissible, and any marks associated with the written answers would have to be forfeited. I have since figured out how I made the computer error and know it will never happen again.

It was my belief that I had a B- going into the final exam. Although I passed the course, it has had a detrimental effect on my GPA. Due to these extenuating circumstances, I am asking for consideration that this course be granted a Credit standing versus a graded mark of D-. Thank you in advance.

Very Respectfully,

Grace O¿¿Malley
