Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Good day,
BCHM 218 was supposed to be my last course at Queen's before graduating. It is also the first course that I failed during my degree.
At the beginning of February, I got pregnant for the first time.
I didn't know how it would go, so I kept on my plan to finish the course.
Unfortunalty, I got a lot of pregnancy symptoms between the end of February and March.
For a good 3-4 weeks, I was unable to do my normal routine and that affected a lot my work in the course.
I started forgetting tests and having difficulties learning the material.
I also experienced dizziness that made some days impossible to concentrate on the computer.
At that point, when I realised I was on my way to fail because of all these symptoms, it was too late to drop the class and I thought there was nothing I could do else than try my best to still pass the course.
I talked about it with an academic advisor recently and she recommended that I tried to do an appeal.
For these reasons, I would like to submit an appeal to drop this class after the term.
Currently, I am feeling way better and doing another course for the summer and I feel more confident I will pass the course.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
