Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
Given the state of the COVID lockdown in Ontario (where I reside), I had planned to enroll in two summer courses due to my employment being postponed under provincial guidelines. Among having certain restrictions lifted two weeks a go, I have been forced to return to work for at first seven days a week, and now five days a week. This has placed immense stress on me mentally, and as such, my time allocation for academic work has declined, along with my academic performance. Alongside being at work, I hold a managerial position that requires me to be continuously communicating with employees and customers through all hours of the day. Due to this unforeseen immense stress, I am no longer able to keep up with the demands of both of my courses, which has forced me to rethink my plan going forward.
Unfortunately, due to an overwhelming week, I have noticed that I have missed the academic deadline to drop a course by two days. I sincerely hope that you will consider allowing me to drop CHEM 113, as I am unable to perform to the best of my abilities, and would be greatly benefited by taking it in the fall semester when I am not working. I need to focus on my job currently, so that I can afford my final year of undergraduate studies.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best regards,
Ian Doell
