Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Hello,

I graduated from Queen¿¿s University as of June 1st, 2021. I applied to the 2nd Entry Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at York University for the Fall 2021 admissions cycle.

Regrettably, upon review of my transcript, I was not advised that the PHGY 170 course I had taken was the incorrect Physiology prerequisite for their nursing program.

However, the admissions committee at the School of Nursing will reconsider my application if I can provide proof of enrolment into the correct prerequisite, which is PHGY 215 (Principles of Mammalian Physiology I).

My Return to Studies form has already been reviewed and approved, so I am now active in the ASC Non-Degree/Post-Degree Studies career for Summer 2021.

I am appealing to enrol in PHGY 215 for the Summer 2021 term, which I understand runs in the May-July session.

I was advised that I would be able to enrol in PHGY 215 for the Fall 2021 term in August. However, this would be beyond the acceptable timeline for York¿¿s request to have the proof of enrolment, as their application deadline for their nursing program closes on June 15th.

I am a highly motivated student. Given the opportunity to begin this course, I am confident that I have the work ethic that would allow me to succeed, despite a late start. In addition, my studies as a Biology major gives me the background required to manage the course load and material.

Your consideration of my request is greatly appreciated, as the School of Nursing at York is awaiting a document confirming my enrolment in PHGY 215 to move forward with their decision.

I would be so grateful for this accommodation as I am very eager to begin my nursing education.

Thanking you in advance.

Sincerely,

Ashley Hosein
