Appeal Letter: Hi, my name is Xavier Harris and my appeal to the Associate Deans to waive my restriction for this year was denied. In reading the e-mail that was sent to me, I completely understand the decision. However, I need to come back to school this year as I do not have the time nor money to take a year off. Last year I dealt with extreme mental health problems and the prospect of being able to study and return to what would be considered a normal student life is what has propelled me to better my mental state and preparedness to be rigorous in my studies over the summer. I was dealing with many suicidal thoughts from Christmas 2020 to the end of the school year. I wanted to retreat from life, therefore not doing any work and being part of society. At home I live with my father since my mother passed away and our relationship is extremely strained as an only child. I believe if I am not able to study it would be the end of my relationship with him, as well as my day to day life. I apologize for trying to evoke pity, but I cannot afford to lose this year. As I said previously, over the course of the summer I have shaken my lingering mindset from last year and I have come around with the help of my friends and even my dad to have an amazing year. I do hope that this could change this situation as it is dire. Thank you for your time.
