Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: This year, I was heavily affected by the pandemic. Last year, I already had somewhat severe depression but it was manageable by my medication. But this year, with lockdown and home circumstances, I was stressed upon belief. I had stopped taking my medicine and was thinking about suicide because I was really unhappy. Due to the fact that I was thinking about committing suicide, I didn't believe that I needed to finish or focus on my course since it wouldn't matter if I am dead. And since I didn't feel the need to focus on my work, my grades were horrible and I failed all of my courses.

Now, I am slightly better due to being back on my medicine. I am much more clear about what I want to do and finishing this degree of one of upmost importance. I am working with my doctor to get over this hurdle by trying out therapy now since taking medicine isn't working. I am signed up to group therapy sessions focusing on my self esteem, depression and anxiety in hopes that I will be better in the future.
