Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Due to my poor mental health, my grade in POLS211 over the summer has suffered. I have suffered and been medicated for depression for 5+ years. I sometimes get into depressive slumps where I can not even get out of bed. After the Winter 2021 Exams I fell into one of these slumps. Due to this, my grade suffered in POLS211. Due to my poor mental health, I was unable to complete assignments on time and often resulted in rushing to submit an assignment. I believe my grade in POLS211 does not reflect my capabilities and as a result I'd like to retake the course in Fall of 2021 when I am mentally better. During POLS211, I was also working a full-time job. I found difficulties balancing my schedule when I was in depressive slumps. I am currently seeking help and getting assistance, I am working towards getting better.
