Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am requesting to drop this course due to extenuating circumstances involving mental illness. My mental illnesses - severe depression and anxiety are withholding me from completing my schoolwork in the ANAT100 course on time. Additionally, my mental health has dropped so much since starting this course that I am having difficulty bringing myself to wake up in the mornings and even to get out of bed. My depression has resulted in a lack of motivation and difficulty finding the will to push through the course. The steps I took to try and fix this were reaching out to a guidance counsellor here at queens that is offered through the student wellness portal, in which it was decided that this course is too much for me at this moment and I need to work on my mental health before I can focus on a course such as this one. Due to these circumstances, I wish to drop the ANAT100 summer term course and appeal the deadline.
