Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hello. I am hoping to drop my course, one week after the deadline, due to an extenuating circumstance that has impaired my financial abilities. My parents have separated, making me financially independent. Since I plan to return to queens in the fall, I had to immediately find a job and begin working in order to pay for my entire school, as opposed to only half like I was previously. Because of this, I am now working 44 hour weeks and unfortunately cannot continue my course. All of our assignments are due at 4:00pm, which I cannot complete, and ever since the situation with my parents, I??ve been extremely devastated and unmotivated. I have sought out professional help in the form of a therapist and hope this will help get me back into my regular habits before preparing to go back to school in the fall.
