Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Good afternoon,

I recently applied for graduation and learned I still require 3 general units to graduate. I was of the understanding that I had completed the requirements necessary. I had multiple discussions with academic advisors who ensured me the classes I was taking this summer would complete my academic requirements. Today, I received an email which stated I needed an additional 3 units to graduate. If I was aware of this I would have selected an additional course to complete this summer. Now I am in a difficult situation as I have applied to jobs stating that I will have completed my university degree by August. Finding a job is very important to me and I do not want my situation to jeopardize any opportunities. I understand this was my mistake and my wrongdoing. I hope that I can be admitted to this class at this time so I can complete my degree requirements. I promise I will give 1000 percent effort to make up for the missed weeks and complete all work that was assigned at the beginning of course. I would greatly appreciate the help.
