To whom it may concern,

This letter is to request an appeal to drop the course Introduction to Literary Study (ENGL 100) due to medical reasons.

I have two chronic pain conditions which have worsened, and also contributed to mental health issues. I was diagnosed with chronic migraines 6 years ago, and this past year I was diagnosed with vulvodynia. I have been to the doctor many times this year and tried various treatments, but nothing has succeeded for the vulvodynia yet. Vulvodynia is severe, non-stop pain and discomfort in the vulva, which makes sitting and sleeping difficult. I will be starting pelvic floor physiotherapy soon to see if that will help.

When I have a migraine (on average once every week lasting 1-2 full days), I need to turn all lights and devices off for relief. Both medical conditions have caused emotional distress, anxiety and depression. The combination of the two chronic pain conditions and the psychological issues as well have made it near impossible to complete all required course work for the two courses I am currently in.

Please see attached letter from my family doctor. If you require further information, please let me know. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Alana Faul
